On Wednesday, November 11 author Tim McKay of Peacham will give an illustrated talk on his recently published book “Letters to a War Bride” at Jeudevine Memorial Library in Hardwick. The book is a depiction of his father Jim McKay’s experiences as an Army Battalion Surgeon during and after WWII in Europe, told primarily through excerpts from his daily letters to his wife Liz, with added context from Tim’s research into the actual activities of his unit and conversations with his father and others who knew him. Tim also weaves into the book and the talk his experiences on a magical journey he took to Europe to discover the people and places his father wrote about in the letters.
Please join us for refreshments at 6:30 followed by this entertaining and moving talk at 7:00, which will last about an hour. Tim will stay to answer questions and will be available to sell and sign books.
