Moonlight Madness in Montpelier is Thursday and your favorite item might be 20-50% off for this one night only sale. This is a great chance to get a jump on holiday shopping.
Many downtown Montpelier stores and boutiques will be offering 20% off storewide from 6-9 pm only but some stores offer sales all day like Salaam Boutique, or others, like Woodbury Mountain Toys, extend the sale for three days. Global Gifts on Langdon Street will have a progressive sale, the sales increase in the evening. Check with individual stores for specific sale details.
The Drawing Board will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary during Moonlight Madness with cake and refreshments from 6-9 pm and 40% off of all art supplies.
While shopping, we encourage people to stop in to one of the many restaurants in downtown Montpelier for dinner or a drink. NECI on Main is offering Moonlight Madness shoppers with a receipt, 10% off of their meal all evening.
Montpelier Alive kicks off the evening at 4 pm with a pumpkin carving contest and pie sale in front of City Hall. This year Montpelier Alive is teaming up with the Parks Department for the pumpkin carving contest; anyone that would like, is invited to donate their sculpting masterpieces to the upcoming Enchanted Forest event in Hubbard Park on October 24th.
Pumpkins are free while they last and a winner will be announced at 6 pm. Miss Vermont High School, Grace Manning, will be judging this year’s contest.
During the pumpkin carving contest, 4-6 pm, also in front of City Hall, the Montessori School of Central Vermont will be selling apple cider and baked goods as a fundraiser and Montpelier Alive will be selling pies.
See you in downtown Montpelier for the madness!
