TOWN OF FAIR HAVEN
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TRAFFIC ORDINANCE AND MAIN STREET SCHOOL ZONE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE

The Fair Haven Selectboard is holding a public hearing on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Offices at 3 North Park Place, Fair Haven, VT to solicit public comment related to amending the Traffic Ordinance and repealing the Main Street School Zone Traffic Ordinance.

Specifically, the following will be added to the Traffic Ordinance:

ARTICLE 4: SPEED REGULATIONS
Section 1

K. US Route - East Proceeding easterly beginning at the New York border for 3.6 miles to the Fair Haven/Castleton Town line the speed limit shall be 65 miles per hour, the same as those limits established and posted by the State of Vermont.

L. US Route 4 – West Proceeding westerly beginning at the Fair Haven/Castleton Town line for 2.7 miles the speed limit shall be 65 miles per hour, the same as those limits established and posted by the State of Vermont and proceeding westerly beginning .8 miles from the New York border the speed limit shall be 55 miles per hour, the same as those limits established and posted by the State of Vermont.

ARTICLE 6: PARKING REGULATIONS
Section 12. North Park Place
It shall be unlawful to park for more than fifteen minutes in the public parking space at the northwest corner of the municipal building property.

ARTICLE 10: DOWNTOWN BUSINESS DISTRICT PARKING
Section 5. Main Street
It shall be unlawful to park any type of vehicle other than an electric powered vehicle in parking spaces located at the southeast corner of the Town Green designated as EV PARKING ONLY.

In addition, since the regulations of the Main Street School Zone Traffic Ordinance already have been incorporated into the Traffic Ordinance as Article 16 in November 2009, this ordinance is proposed for repeal.
