Your local public access station, GMATV, is hoping you can help! Community media is free and accessible to everyone. But, this could all go away without your input. Comcast, the largest cable TV, Internet, and phone provider in the state, is about to renew their certificate of public good (CPG), which will allow them to continue to operate as a utility in Vermont until the year 2027. There is an IMPORTANT public hearing this Wednesday (10/21) evening at 7pm about the future of community media in Vermont. This is the last opportunity until 2027 for Vermonters to ask for modern services like local HD cable channels, an interactive cable program guide reflecting local programming on public access channels; which is a great way to easily find and record local meetings and shows for later viewing. Please let the state know the value GMATV brings to the community! If you support local access TV stations like GMATV and if you believe the access to video training, equipment, and cable channel we provide is important to our community, PLEASE tell the Public Service Board.
