Harm Reduction Approach to Psychiatric Drugs

Past event
Oct 21, 2015, 5:30 to 7 PM

Are you in the process of changing your relationship with psychiatric drugs? Do you know someone who is? Join us this Wednesday at 5:30 PM for a presentation on a harm reduction approach to psychiatric drugs.

Typically conversations about psychiatric medication happen in private offices between doctors and patients. This workshop opens up the conversation to the public domain. This hour and a half presentation covers practical tips for the "coming off" or transition process, what to expect during the process, and what kinds of ongoing supports can be helpful. This highly interactive and engaging workshop encourages audience members to share their expertise on this topic.

All perspectives are welcome- whether you are someone who finds psychiatric medication useful, are looking to withdraw from your medication, or if you’re just curious about the explosion of psychiatric medication use in our culture. This presentation will be delivered by trained facilitators drawing from their own lived experience with the subject, but does not constitute medical advice.

When: Wednesday, October 21, 2015
Time: 5:30-7:00 PM
Where: 125 College Street, 2nd Floor

NOTE: Pathways Vermont's Community Learning Series is filmed by staff and broadcast on Channel 17. This presentation will be made available for viewing online following the live event. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Laura at laura@pathwaysvermont.org / (888) 492-8218 x 104.
