Little Otters Nature Playgroup, a program of the Open Hearth Community Center, is meeting this coming Monday, Oct. 19. We meet at the McCullough Barn, across from the Fayston Elementary School, from 9:30-11 am. Children aged 0-5, and their parents and caregivers, are welcome to join.

Here are a few suggestions for being prepared:
1) Plan that your children will most likely get dirty and maybe even a little wet. An extra change of clothes or plastic bags/towels in the car will help.
2) Unless there is thunder/lightening the playgroup will run, so make sure to dress for the weather. The American Association of Pediatrics recommends dressing young children in one more layer than you would wear to be comfortable outside.
3) Pack a snack and bring water.
4) If you have new or non-walkers a jogging stroller or baby backpack can be helpful.
5) Please remember that the forest has potential hazards, and you are responsible for keeping your child safe and well.

Wear lots of layers, as it's supposed to be chilly on Monday, and please consider bringing a travel mug for hot tea in the forest!
