Past event
Oct 25, 2015, 4 to 6 PM

Get out your toe-tapping shoes and come to the first concert of the cold weather season of the Raise the Roof concert series in Proctorsville on Sunday October 25. World class fiddler Lissa Schneckenburger will be joined by Maine fiddler Greg Boardman and guitarist Bethany Waickman for a late fall afternoon of music from New England and the British Isles. Described in the Boston Globe as "a lovely singer and literate, catchy songwriter," Schneckenburger, who began playing at age 6, is known for her lively fiddling and her gentle evocative singing that brings traditional New England tunes to life. The folk music magazine Dirty Linen described her playing as "a hot hand with the reels and jigs, mixing deftly ornamented traditional tunes with clever perky originals." Raise the Roof Concerts bring fresh musical voices to the Black River Valley area and offer live music at an unbeatable price. Admission is $10.00 at the door and the music starts at 4 p.m. Get acquainted with the clear voice and gifted fiddling of Lissa Schneckenburger on Youtube and come down to Gethsemane Church on Depot St. in Proctorsville on October 25 to hear her perform live in the little church with big acoustics.
