Dear Neighbors,
DPW will be doing some preliminary work in the area of the Shelburne Street roundabout. The work will take place at night between the hours of 7PM and 6AM Monday through Saturday, starting Monday evening, October 19th and is expected to take 6 weeks.
What they will be doing is locating existing utilities and connections in the area of the roundabout. This will consist of two activities. The first activity will consist of using ground penetrating radar to identify underground utilities and estimate their depths. This activity will be relatively quiet. The second activity will consist of excavations at approximately 100 selected sites to confirm utility depths and utility conflict points. This activity is expected to begin around October 28th and will generate a moderate amount of construction noise. During both activities traffic patterns along Locus St., Shelburne St., South Willard St., St Paul St., and Ledge Rd. may be modified. Shelburne St. will be reduced to 2 lanes. Please follow the instructions of local traffic control measures and flaggers as required.
You can check the DPW website https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/DPW for updates.
This is a positive step forward in the planning for the roundabout construction. We are continuing to work with the State to move this project along as expeditiously as possible.
My best to you for a great weekend,
Karen
