Celebrating Mediation Week, “Improv-ing Mediation in Vermont” will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 5 pm, in the Morgan Room of Aiken Hall at Champlain College. Admission is free and open to the public and there will be a cash bar.
For those who don't know, mediation is a conflict resolution process in which an impartial third party helps people in conflict to communicate more effectively and find solutions. Improv comedy is a theatrical art form where performers are challenged to create spontaneous scenes from audience suggestions.
Sponsored by the The Dispute Resolution Section of the Vermont Bar Association, in association with Champlain College, Vermont Comedy Club, the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution and the Peace and Justice Center, Improv-ing Mediation in Vermont, a combination workshop, discussion and performance will demonstrate how the tools and skills of improv comedy may be used to defuse conflict and react to unexpected situations, both in mediations and in everyday life.
Instructors from the Vermont Comedy Club will lead a skills workshop and then perform their hilarious show for participants. Lawyer or not, come one come all.
Parking is available in several locations:
