Bring Your Tires and Help Vermonters in Need!

I am pleased to announce the Wheels for Warmth Drop Off in Stowe: October 29th and 30th from 2:00 - 5:30 PM. Bring your tires to Percy Park in Stowe - dispose of your tires easily and responsibly, and help our neighbors and friends in need this winter!

An annual fundraiser, Wheels for Warmth was founded in 2005 by Phil Scott as a fundraiser for emergency heating assistance programs. The program has three goals:
1) Raise funds for emergency fuel assistance for distribution to needy families through regional Community Action Agencies;
2) Create a resource of DMV-inspected tires that are deemed safe for at least one season of use, to be sold to needy Vermonters at reasonable prices; and
3) Provide a convenient, inexpensive way to dispose of unwanted tires, reducing the number of tires discarded in rivers or along our roadways.

To date, the program has raised over $250,000 for fuel assistance, sold 12,500 safe donated tires, and recycled almost 20,500 unsafe, unusable tires.

To ensure we in Lamoille County can help this great cause, Chip Percy and I are asking that Stowe and Lamoille County residents please save their tires and bring them to Percy Park on October 29th and 30th. If they are still usable, they will be sold at the Tire Sale on October 31st at reasonable prices. If they are no longer usable they will be disposed of conveniently and responsibly at a very reasonable cost.

This is a great way to support our neighbors and friends in need throughout the winter months.
