Neighbors,
The City Council is scheduled to meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, October, 13, 2015. The Council will first hold a work session on tentative contracts with two of our collective bargaining units at 6:15 pm Conference Room 12 at City Hall. The majority of this work session is expected to be in executive session.
After the work session, the Council will convene a regular meeting in Contois Auditorium at 7:00 pm. First on the agenda is the presentation and discussion of annual reports from the Conservation Board and the Police Commission. Our deliberative agenda consists of three ordinance amendments: one regarding the treatment of livestock, an ordinance on the regulation of chickens and other animals and an ordinance on peddlers and solicitors. After these matters are addressed, we will hear a presentation from CEDO and Capital Projects Manager Martha Keenan on Memorial Auditorium.
Next, the Council will consider adoption of the Housing Action Plan. The Housing Action Plan details the City’s plans for housing. The Housing Action Plan can be viewing by going to the following link:

After this vote, the Council will consider resolutions to ratify the tentative agreements with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and the Burlington Firefighters Union.
Finally, we will hear a presentation from CEDO Director Peter Owens and the City Attorney’s office on New Moran. This update is expected to be done executive session as it will involve disclosure of negotiations.
We have a Council meeting with the Mayor Presiding that will occur at some point during the evening to vote on an open seat on the Board of Voter Registration. Our last items on our evening are Council committee reports, comments from Councilors and the Mayor.
As with all Council meetings, please keep in mind that you are always welcome to come and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30 pm.
