Jacqueline Woodson, award-winning author of several books for children and young adults, will be speaking at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier on Tuesday, 10/13 at 7pm. Woodson's most recent book, Brown Girl Dreaming, a memoir of her childhood written in verse, was awarded the National Book Award in 2014. The book also received the Coretta Scott King Award, a Newbery Honor Award, the NAACP Image Award, and the Sibert Honor Award.
The free, public talk will be followed by a Q&A and book signing. Bear Pond Books will be on hand with copies for sale. Hosted by the Vermont Humanities Council in partnership with Saint Michael's College.
