Each fall here in St. Albans, we host a "Grow the Game" girls event in collaboration with the International Ice Hockey Federation and USA Hockey, who are celebrating Girls’ Hockey Weekend, October 10-11, 2015. Rinks across America are hosting opportunities to build awareness, celebrate current players and grow participation for girls’ hockey during this weekend. St. Albans has always had a very successful girls hockey program, and we want to keep the momentum going for future generations!
Here is St. Albans, we’ve put together a 2 hour Grow the Game event on Sunday, October 11th that provides a free skate opportunity for girls ages 4 and up – all ages and abilities are welcome! We’ll have some of the BFA Comets, as well as the SASA U14 and U12 skaters on the ice to help the younger and less experienced skaters learn some skills and have some fun with games and activities.
After the free skate, we’ll have a free pizza party to kick off the hockey season and we’ll be lucky enough to have four of the UVM women’s hockey players on hand to sign autographs and spend some time with the girls. Madison Litchfield, Molly Depew, Bella Webster, and Kourtney Menches will be here in St. Albans for our event.
If you know a girl between the ages of 4-14 who would love to learn to skate, here's a perfect opportunity to try it out for free and have some fun!
