Walk & Roll to School Oct. 7

Join students all over the world this Wed Oct 7 in celebrating the benefits of walking and biking for International Walk & Roll to School Day:
- enhances health (arrive at school exercised and alert for classes)
- reduces traffic, improves air quality
- deepens commitment to neighborhood (notice more)
- tests for safe routes (report sidewalk or crosswalk issues).
Escort younger siblings and friends to Mary Hogan School along Walking School Bus routes. One starts at Peterson Terrace/ Washington St Ext by 7:35 am. Another one starts from 156 South Village Green at 7:55 am. Both routes arrive at Mary Hogan by 8 am.
Remind drivers to slow down for, yield to walkers & cyclists, don't text & drive. Walkers hit by cars at 40 mph have 15% survival rate while those hit at 20 mph have 85% chance of survival.Hosted by Middlebury Safe Routes.
