Lamoille Neighborhood Food Project /The Green Bag Project
A person brought in a bag of food to donate to the Food Share and her response to our thanks was, "It feels good to help."
It's a simple statement, but it's true, and we hear it a lot at the Food Share. No matter what that "help" is, it's making a positive difference to someone somewhere.
The Green Bag Project (officially known as the Lamoille Neighborhood Food Project) is one way to help the Food Share throughout the year. Donating a Green Bag of nonperishable food every two months provides a reliable influx of food to put on the pantry shelves. These donations offset some of what the Food Share must otherwise purchase to help over 350 families each month.
Green Bags and collection boxes are handily available at Morrisville, Hyde Park, Wolcott and Stowe libraries, or, come by the Food Share during open hours (M-F 9-11:30 and Sat 9:30-11) to pick up a bag.
The next Green Bag Day is Saturday, October 10. Drop off your donation in any bag and ask for a Green Bag for next time!
