For all of you choristers in particular and music lovers in general:

The Blanche Moyse Chorale makes its debut at Chandler Music Hall on Friday October 9 at 7:30, presenting the monumental St. John Passion by J.S. Bach. A reception follows the concert in the Chandler Gallery.
The Chorale is joined by members of the New England Bach Festival under the direction of Artistic Director, Mary Westbrook-Geha, in its fourth annual celebration to honor the memory of their mentor, Blanche Moyse, and the music of her beloved Bach. As each year, the concert will also be performed in the Persons Auditorium in Marlboro on October 11, and presenters at Chandler are delighted to have been invited to be part of this now annual celebration.

Soloists in the St. John Passion are Steven Paul Spears as the Evangelist, Sanford Sylvan as Jesus, and the soprano arias will be sung by Mary Ellen Callahan. They are joined by tenor Yeghishe Manucharyan and bass David Tinervia. As of this writing the alto is yet to be determined. Featured in the wind section of the chamber orchestra is the world renowned flutist, Carol Wincenc. Very early in her career she played in Blanche's Bach Festival Orchestra and is happy to return to Marlboro (and thus luckily come to Randolph) and revisit her roots.

Tickets are available by calling the Chandler box office between the hours of 3 and 6 at (802) 728-6464 or online at www.chandler-arts.org. For more information about the Chorale, visit the Brattleboro Music Center website at www.bmcvt.org/blanche-moyse-chorale
