Stand Up & Speak Out: Practical Skills for Effective Citizen Activism
Rural Vermont Hosts Statewide Series in October
Rural Vermont announces an informative and interactive workshop series on the opportunities and need for citizen advocates. These workshops will provide participants with inspiration, confidence and practical skills to speak up for causes they care about to create the change they seek. Workshops are free and include hearty snacks and a citizen activist toolkit. RSVP is strongly encouraged.

Tues. Oct 6, 4-8pm - Upper Valley Food Coop, White River Junction
Wed. Oct 7, 4-8pm - Sterling College, Craftsbury
Tues. Oct. 13, 4:30-8:30pm - Burlington Co-Housing Community
Wed. Oct. 14, 1-5pm - Green Mountain College, Poultney
Sun. Oct. 18, Time 2-6pm - Burrelli Farm, Berlin
The professional staff and farmer board members from Rural Vermont will provide an overview of the many situations in which citizen voices can and must be heard. From town boards to our state legislature, regulatory agencies, the U.S. Congress and global grassroots movements, learn how they work and how citizens can influence them. Using personal stories, fun interactive activities, and the opportunity to meet other aspiring activists, each of these four hour workshops will provide participants with the simple and important skills for effective citizen action.
