The Marlboro School Board Invites You to a Special Community Meeting
Monday October 5th, 2015 at 7:00pm at the Marlboro Elementary School Junior High Room
The Marlboro School Board is hosting a community meeting to provide information about Act 46, Vermont’s new education governance reform law. The new education governance reform law is based upon creating equity amongst all VT schools through consolidation of administrative governance. Through consolidation of administrative and school board structure schools will not close, but infact be able to be more financially stable. This will change some of the school feel since we will have a large pool of shared programming to pull from. The projection is that it will also change our education property tax rates, hopefully decreasing them.
Special guests:
* David Sharpe – Vermont House of Representatives, Addison-4, Chair of the House Committee on Education
* Emily Long – Vermont House of Representatives, Windham-5, President of the Vermont School Boards Association
The meeting will involve a presentation and question/answer session with our special guests. The school board is seeking broad participation from the community as we move forward in making the decisions necessary for implementation of this legislative mandate. This meeting will be the start of an important collaboration between the MES, the school board, and the wider Marlboro community. We hope you can join us!
