Parenting Class begins October 22 in Northfield.
“GUIDING GOOD CHOICES” is a 5-session Parenting workshop series to be held Thursdays, October 22 – November 19, 6:00-8:00 pm, at Brown Public Library in Northfield. This session is sponsored by Washington South Supervisory Union and offered free of charge through Central Vermont New Directions Coalition and the Vermont Department of Health’s Washington County Partnership for Success grant. This aids parents and caregivers of children, in grades four through eight, to learn skills as their kids enter middle and high school.

The course will cover how to set clear guidelines with both positive and negative consequences; how to control and express anger constructively; understanding the teenage brain; promoting family bonds; and preparing kids with “refusal” skills when peer influence might lead to trouble.

Space is limited, Pre-registration is required, Child care is available with reservations. Contact Ann Gilbert or Ginny Burley at 223-4949 or email agilbert@cvndc.org to sign up.
