Norwich Speaker, from Columbia Univ. Center for Radiological Research

Past event
Oct 1, 2015, 12 to 1 PM

This Thursday, Oct. 1, at 12:15, in Cabot 85, Dr. Alan Bigelow will give a Larsen Science Lecture.

Dr. Bigelow works on projects related to the single-particle single-cell microbeam irradiation system. With the current generation of the microbeam system, Alan's projects are centered on cellular dynamic imaging and on expanding the range of ion species emitted by the particle accelerator. More specifically, Alan has developed and installed a multiphoton microscope for the microbeam endstation and has built a laser ion source to be installed as an option in the terminal of the new HVE 5 MV Singletron particle accelerator at Radiological Research Accelerator Facility.

Refreshments are provided and all members of the University and Vermont community are welcome!

The Norwich University Science Lecture Series is sponsored by the Larsen Fund, established in 1998 to honor Dr. Frederick D. Larsen, Emeritus Dana Professor of Geology.
