What do you get when you cross a Shakespeare classic with a 1940s-themed original jazz musical? You get Stowe Theatre Guild's final show of the season, "A Midsummer Night's Dream: The 40s Musical!"

The show continues Thursday to Saturday, Oct. 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 at 8 p.m., with Saturday matinees on Oct. 3 and 10 at 2 p.m. at Town Hall Theatre on the second floor of the Akeley Memorial Building, 67 Main St., Stowe.

Director Don Wright and music director Ashley O'Brien, of the Burlington-based Very Merry Theatre company, have adapted William Shakespeare's classic comedy and created an original music score, bringing the story to life as a musical set after World War II in Athens, Indiana. Titania, played by Jane Harissis of Stowe, owns the Fairydust Diner. Oberon, owner of King's Ice Cream Parlor, played by George Walker, quickly becomes jealous of Titania's success.

With zany comic situations delivered with love, drama, jealousy, competition and a sprinkle of magic, this show is great fun for all ages! Alaina Pinto of Local 22 and 44 came to visit us on Monday morning — check out clips from the news show here: http://www.mychamplainvalley.com/news/shakespeare-with-a-1940s-twist

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children 18 and under, including all tax and fees. Get your tickets at bit.ly/stgmidsummertix, or by calling 802-253-3961, emailing tickets@stowetheatre.com or visiting the box office, open two hours before each show!
