The Friends of the Stowe Free Library welcomes back Vermont author, Walt McLaughlin on Thursday, Oct. 15th from 7-8 pm. for a free talk on his latest book "The Unexpected Trail". The 100 Mile Wilderness, located in northern Maine, is the most remote section of the Appalachian Trail. With a German Shepherd Dog name Matika, McLaughlin accepts the challenge, reveling in all the hardship that the North Woods has to offer. As he hikes, the author reflects upon the evolution of the trail system, the history of the region, and his own inclination towards wildness. Community Room - Pond St. Stowe.
