FREE TALK! The Friends of the Stowe Free Library Presents Vermont Author – Walt McLaughlin “The Unexpected Trail” Thursday, October 15th from 7-8 pm at the Community Room – Stowe Free Library, Pond St. Light Refreshments Served.

The 100 Mile Wilderness, located in northern Maine, is the most remote section of the Appalachian Trail. With a German Shepherd Dog name Matika, McLaughlin accepts the challenge, reveling in all the hardship that the North Woods has to offer. As he hikes, the author reflects upon the evolution of the trail system, the history of the region, and his own inclination towards wildness. We hope you’ll join us in welcoming back Walt McLaughlin! As a backcountry traveler, freelance writer, philosopher of wildness and avid outdoorsman, McLaughlin has ventured into the wilds of Southeast Alaska and New York’s Adirondacks as well as the forests of northern New England. The Community Room of the Stowe Free Library is accessed from the rear of the building, with parking in the Elementary School lot.
For further information, contact the Library at 253-6145.
