Past event
Sep 27, 9 PM to 12 AM, Sep 28, 2015

(Note to be removed before posting: The lunar eclipse takes place this Sunday night. If I submitted this post too late to go out before the event, please of course don't include it in the distribution. Just let me know. Please also erase "start of post" before the message below. Thanks much. - Jacque.)

(Start of Post):
Have you ever heard of a Harvest Moon, Supermoon, or Tetrad of the Blood Moons? If you’re curious, join your fellow Earthlings this Sunday to watch the Moon disappear—almost. From 9 p.m. to midnight Sunday, September 27, faculty of the Norwich University physics department will be on the Crescent (between Crescent Avenue and Main Street) to explain the lunar eclipse occurring before your eyes in the night sky. According to NASA, the Moon will have already begun to fall into the Earth's shadow by 9 p.m. The total eclipse is expected to start at 10:11 p.m. and will peak at 10:47 p.m. Too cloudy to see clearly? No problem. We can move indoors to Cabot 085 to stream the event live from other clear-sky locations.

If you have questions, contact my husband, Dr. Arthur Pallone, who is coordinating the event: apallone@norwich.edu. We hope to see you there! - Jacque
