Magic Hat Fights Hunger with Fourth Annual Oktoberfeast
Local Food & Drink Festival to Benefit Vermont Foodbank

South Burlington, VT – Magic Hat is once again joining the Vermont Foodbank in an effort to make sure no Vermonter goes hungry this fall. The fourth annual Oktoberfeast celebration is set to take place outside at the beer-maker’s South Burlington brewery on Saturday, October 3rd from 12-5pm.

Admission to Oktoberfeast is $5, all of which will benefit the Vermont Foodbank. Once inside the festival, localvores will have access to samples from more than 20 local food and drink makers. Magic Hat will be hosting an outdoor beer garden featuring year-round favorites, seasonal selections and a special beer brewed just for Oktoberfeast. Dull moments are not expected to exist as local musician Lowell Thompson serenades feasters with top notch tunes, and The Artifactory® staff guide attendees around the brewery for free brewery tours every hour on the hour.

About the Vermont Foodbank

The Vermont Foodbank is the state’s largest hunger-relief organization, serving communities in all 14 counties of Vermont through a network of 225 food shelves, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers and after-school programs. This year, the Foodbank will distribute 10 million pounds of food to more than 153,000 Vermonters. For every $5 entry fee to Oktoberfeast, the Foodbank can help to provide the equivalent of 15 meals to Vermonters in need. Over the past three years, Oktoberfeast has helped raise over $26,000 for the Foodbank, which has provided more than 70,000 meals to Vermonters in need.

Oktoberfeast is made possible by the generous support of Magic Hat’s local friends and neighbors, especially Seven Days, Avalon Tent Company, WIZN and The Buzz.
