The Monkton Friends Methodist Church annual Harvest supper is Saturday, 9/26 from 5 to 6:30. The meal will feature homemade baked beans, rolls, squash, beets, hash, and an incredible selection of homemade pies and cakes! The price is $9 for adults and $4 for children over the age of three.

A number of years ago we started the tradition of donating a percentage of our profits to a group or organization doing good works for people in our local area as well as across the country. Over the years we have helped families impacted by Tropical Storm Irene, other natural disasters, cancer, and addiction. We just changed our selection of the group to help based on the tragedy of Kyle Young, the Vermont State Police trooper from Monkton who died after suffering a medical emergency at a firing range last Thursday afternoon. We are going to make a donation of one third of the profits to assist his family.
