Hasn't the weather been glorious!
Great weather for shopping at your local farmers market - our vendors have TONS of fresh fruit, veggies, eggs, milk, cheese and meat ready for you to take home.
Some of the offerings: Peppers, potatoes, CIDER, apples, ground cherries, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, CORN and more and more!!!
This is a good week to plan to pick up dinner at the market, beside the great Mediterranean food you can get from Mediterranean Mix and Davorka at Mostar Catering (had one of her stuffed peppers last week -WOW!) we'll have a couple more choices for you. Our new friends from Northern Fire & Slice will be back this week and next to finish out the market season and there is a chance that SamosaMan will finally be able to rejoin us for these last 2 weeks. With all those choices why not plan to pick up one meal to eat at the market before you do your shopping and a SECOND one from a different vendor to take home for Friday's dinner!!! There's only 2 more weeks of market so you might as well go for it ;-)
And the folks at Poker Hill Garden are getting ready for fall: Poker Hill Gardens is preparing for autumn and the inevitable winter. Mark and Phil would like to thank the customers who participated in the "Order Now--Pay Later" program. All of the thirty or so customers who ordered plants showed up and payed when notified! We are considering a similar approach for the fall/winter farmer's market. This week we'll be offering some roots and bulbs which can be planted now for spring bloom. Also, the usual variety of potted perennials will be available for fall planting. There will probably be a few "special" offers!
[Just goes to show that we not only have the best vendors but we also have the best customers.]
