Join the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association as it kicks off its 2015-16 season with two great concerts this weekend. On Saturday, September 26th at 5:00pm at the Elley-Long Music Center, the Vermont Youth Philharmonia conducted by Dr. Yutaka Kono, performs works by Arcangelo Corelli, Camille Saint-Saëns, and a new work by Brent Kroening. The concert ends with an Andrew Lloyd Weber medley.
On Sunday, September 27th at 3:00pm at the Flynn Center, the Vermont Youth Orchestra, conducted by Jeffrey Domoto, opens with Richard Wagner's tribute to King Ludwig II of Bavaria aptly titled Homage March for Ludwig II. Also on the program is MMU senior Ginny Churchill performing Gerald Finzi's Bagatelles for Clarinet and String Orchestra. The program closes with Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's joyful Symphony No. 2 in C minor, Op. 17, titled the “Little Russian.”
