Hunger and Harvest
Tuesday, September 29th, from 5:30 - 7pm (one week from today)
All are welcome!
Come gather with us at the home of Rabbi David Fainsilber and Alison Link during Hunger Action Month and the Jewish Harvest Festival of Sukkot. As part of the tradition of the holiday of Sukkot, we welcome this opportunity to host friends, neighbors as well as all interested parties in our sukkah (a small, temporary booth or hut beside our home). Learn about the connections between food justice and the themes of Sukkot, the current situation here in Vermont and the opportunities to be more engaged on this issue. If you have never been to a sukkah...come join us and check it out!
We at the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (JCOGS) have been working regularly with the Vermont Foodbank and the Lamoille Community Food Share. During this event we will be hearing from Rabbi David; Theresa Snow, executive director of Salvation Farms and others engaged in this work. Salvation Farms is working toward high-level food system change in Vermont through managing surplus farm foods, making them available to institutions and individuals who currently have limited access.
Tuesday, September 29th, from 5:30-7pm (program starts at 6pm)
Event location: 35 Clark Ave Morrisville (right off of Congress)
Refreshments will include locally sourced vegetarian foods.
JCOGS is concluding our 13TH ANNUAL Food Drive. For this event please fill a bag or bags with non-perishables for the Lamoille Community Food Share and bring it with you. See below for details. *
