BANNED BOOKS WEEK is Sept. 27 to Oct 3 and this year Banned Books Week Celebrates Young Adult Books. YA books are more often banned than any other type of books. Jeudevine Library has copies of the graphic novel PERSEPOLIS by Marjane Satrapi for people, teens and adults, to pick up now. The library will show the film on Thursday, Oct 1 at 6:30 PM. Satrapi wrote and directed the film. She draws a poignant story about a young girl in Iran during the Islamic Revolution, when people¹s hopes were dashed as fundamentalists took power. Discussion of the book, the film and banned books will follow the film with light refreshments.

You don't have to read the book to attend the film. For more information call the library at 472-5948.
