The Winooski Water Department will be shutting water off on Malletts Bay Avenue between Railroad Lane and West Spring Street, on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at approximately 8:00 AM to replace a main line gate valve. Residents on Maple Street will also be affected by this interruption. Water may be off until approximately 3:00 PM, or longer depending on conditions. In addition, water will be shut off on Maple Street and on Malletts Bay Avenue between Railroad Lane and Maple Street on Thursday, September 19 from 8:00 AM to 3: 00PM to replace another main line valve.
If you are a homeowner, you should shut your inside water valve off at the meter, or the water valve on your hot water tank. If you are a tenant you are asked to contact your landlord or property management company with this information. You or your landlord/property manager are advised to shut off your inside valve at the water meter, or shut off the incoming water valve at your hot water tank.
If the water appears discolored when service is restored, please allow your cold water faucet to run until it clears.
