On September 26th at 9 a.m., approximately 25+/- cars, with a driver and a navigator (and perhaps a passenger or two, or three or more!) will line up around the Vergennes City Green. Soon after a checkered-flag send-off will set these drivers on a beautiful and well-thought out 100-mile journey throughout Addison County. This year's theme is all about celebrating the area’s agricultural heritage with stops along the way geared to support that theme. A delightful farm-to-table lunch, catered by the Starry Night Cafe in the historic Mount Philo Inn, will give attendees a taste of what local food purveyors and producers are "made of".
Participants will return to the city green at 4 p.m. for some serious and seriously funny prizes. (Later in the evening the Vermont Symphony Orchestra "Made in Vermont" concert will be taking place in the Opera House.).
Drivers (male or female) are encouraged to find sponsors for their cars along with the $250 entrance fee to vie for the coveted “Ladies Rally” award that goes to the car that raises the most money for the non-profit Vergennes Opera House. Some participants arrive in costume to create a theme with their car, adding to the fun of the day. All proceeds go directly to the Vergennes Opera House organization, the all-volunteer organization that support economic vitality in the historic little city of Vergennes.
The all-inclusive price of $250 per vehicle includes a driver and a navigator (two people). Each additional passenger is $50. A two-person motorcycle is $250 and a one-person motorcycle is $125. Registration includes a delicious lunch en route!
NEW THIS YEAR: A Ladies' Rally reception in the Opera House the evening before, Friday, September 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. with some lite hors d'oeuvres and wine and beer. Following the reception is a public community (FREE) concert in the opera house with O'h Anleigh Irish American Music.
Folks can register online here http://bit.ly/LadiesRally2015, email sus.schaefer@me.com or show up at the city green on Saturday morning and sponsor a favorite car.
Vehicle support is being provided by Pete Markowski of RPM: Restoration Performance Motorcars.
