A memorial gathering and then a Celebration of Life for Jim Murphy, the Shoreham resident, business owner and musician who passed away recently, have been set for Saturday afternoon, September 26, at the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society church and the Town Hall Theatre in Middlebury. All those who knew and cared for Jim are invited to attend.

The memorial gathering will begin at noon, at the CVUUS church at 2 Duane Street. Immediately following, a celebration at the Theater begins, and a few close friends will make brief remarks. Jim’s band, the Avant-Garde Dogs, will also play a couple of songs. A light lunch will be served, and cash bar is available.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Town Hall Theatre, to support its music programs for young people, specifically "Rocket Science", or to the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society.
