Come to the Dorothy Alling Memorial Library on Saturday, October 3 at 1 pm for heartrending songs, raucous dance tunes, and haunting airs. This music is warm, lively, and replete with longing; as likely to make you laugh in one measure as it is to break your heart in the next. Husband and wife duo, Dominique Dodge and Robert Ryan breathe vivid life into timeless songs and melodies from Ireland and Scotland. Though small in stature, these two young musicians create a mighty sound, textured with reverence and depth, as they pause every now and again to share stories and insights with humor and grace.
Raised in an Irish family in England, Robert has been playing the fiddle and whistle since his earliest days. Dominique, a singer and harper , holds a BA Honors in Scottish Music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and an MA in Irish Music Performance from The University of Limerick as a Fulbright Scholar.
