Hi neighbors: I thought some of you might also be interested in this event coming up on Thursday:

MAPPING INVASIVES for a Healthy Forest at the Birds of Vermont Museum / 900 Sherman Hollow Road / Huntington Thursday, September 17 • 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Invasion of the plants! Hmmm... just doesn't sound scary does it? But it's absolutely serious.

So let Elizabeth Spinney, Invasive Plant Coordinator for VT Parks & Rec, teach us which plants are encroaching on our forests and what we can do about it.

Workshop Part 1:
- Learn and practice invasive plant ID
- Receive materials about management and outreach

Workshop Part II (we'll host this next spring):
- Learn to map invasives as part of a widely used, robust citizen science project
- Each of our observation contributions help build a scientifically smart state plan and more!

All welcome! We will be both indoors and out. Pre-registration helps us provide enough materials for each workshop. Call (802) 434-2167 or email museum@birdsofvermont.org
