Grand Isle Historical Society final 2015 Program
All are welcome on Tuesday, September 15th at 7:00 P. M. at the yellow 1814 Block Schoolhouse located on U.S. Rte #2 just north of the Grand Isle Elementary School. This is on the site of the Hyde Log Cabin.
The Grand Isle Historical Society will host “The Old Country Fiddler: Charles Ross Taggart, Vermont’s Traveling Entertainer", presented by Adam Boyce. Charles Ross Taggart of Topsham, Vermont, had a forty-year career performing across the country, including the famous Red Path Chautauqua circuit. Fiddler Adam Boyce portrays Mr. Taggart near the end of his career, circa 1936, sharing recollections of his life and career interspersed with live fiddling and humorous sketches.
This program is sponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council through its Speakers Bureau program. The Vermont Humanities Council is dedicated to creating a state in which every individual reads, participates in public affairs, and continues to learn throughout life.
