Hello Families,

I have room for two more families in my Tuesday music class.

This is a 10-week class for ages 2-5 years at my Home Studio in Poultney, VT.

We will focus on songs and activties with a Fall theme that help children learn
listening skills, steady beat, and social skills in a fun, group setting with their
peers. We will play a variety of instruments, do group dances, play musical games,
and more.

Musical activites are one of the most effective ways of helping children develop the social skills that are so essential to making friends. Maintining a consistently stable friendship is one of the most important social abilities a child will very acquire. By practicing interactions such as taking turns with instruments, sharing an instrument together, cooperating with a partner during a group dance, listening to their peers play and sing, answering questions and expressing themselves verbally or in song in front of a group, and allowing others a turn without interrupting, we practice appropriate social skills. Just like math, science, or reading, social skills must be explicitly taught and practiced to be mastered!

Research shows that early childhood music classes are also very beneficial for children's language development, math skills, and helping children develop self-confidence. In fact, the development of your child's brain actually changes in response to playing music, it clearly enhances the ability to read and verbal memory. There are SO many benefits to early childhood music, we'll talk more about the benefits during the classes, so be sure to join us
next Tuesday, September 24th at 10:00am.

Class size is limited, so be sure to register as soon as possible. Prices vary, contact me for details at musicwithheidi@gmail.com, 802 884 8040.

Heidi Brown
