Green Roof Raising Saturday: Volunteers Needed

Past event
Sep 12, 2015, 8 AM to 6 PM

REMINDER:
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help assemble the first owner built/designed green roof in Burlington.

Volunteers will move the growing substrate up onto the front porch roof, and then plant it! All the plants on the roof are locally sourced, from my yard and others in the 'hood. There will be a bucket brigade possibly involving a pulley system, and other less heavy jobs on the ground. Anyone can help! Think of it as a neighborhood barn raising with an environmental twist.

THIS SATURDAY, 12 SEPTEMBER (rain date Sunday)
ALL DAY starting at 8am
Where: 68 Catherine Street

Lend a hand for an hour or two any time during the day. At the end of the day will be a celebration with food and drink!

I am a Green Roof Professional who can help you build your own small-scale green roof on a porch, garage, chicken coop or dog house! No job too small! I also give a presentation on the history of green roofs worldwide, with amazing photo documentation. Free to any group or organization. Call me. Come by and watch. Ask questions. Be a part of the next wave of Green Living!

Thank you all for your support. Beth 802-881-2471

p.s. if you have any sedum of any variety to spare, bring it over and it will become part of the living eco-system of the roof!
