Great news! A Fleeting Animal: An Opera From Judevine – “the brilliant and heartwrenching creation of Brookfield composer Erik Nielsen and Wolcott poet David Budbill” (Jim Lowe, Barre-Montpelier Times-Argus/Rutland Herald) is coming to Chandler Music Hall on Sunday afternoon, September 20 at 4 p.m.!
It's the tragic love story of Tommy, a recently returned veteran (Adam Hall), and Grace, a struggling and misunderstood single mother (Mary Bonhag). The supporting characters in the rich cast leap straight from the often muddy and messy roads of rural Vermont life. This newly revised production is led by Anne Decker as Artistic Director conducting her ensemble TURNmusic and Margo Whitcomb as Stage Director.
Tickets are available through the Chandler box office at 802-728-6464 weekdays between 3 and 6 pm, or online at www.chandler-arts.org.
The production also includes an art show in the Downstairs Gallery from August 14 through September 27. Fleeting Moments: Why We Go On expands on themes in the opera, with paintings, photographs, poetry, and sculpture by Vermont artists. The reception for this exhibit will be Saturday, August 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
