The Montpelier contra dance is holding its annual fundraiser dance to support our Grange hall this Saturday, 8–11 p.m. Great Bear Trio will be playing — they are rockstars of the contra world, which makes this a dance not to be missed. If that doesn't entice you enough, there will be a Grand Snack Extravaganza at the break, including free Ben & Jerry's for everyone!

This is a regular Montpelier dance with regular $9 admission ($5 for age 16 and under) — we are simply asking folks to pitch in extra for the Grange, as much as you can to help reach our goal. A group of dancers have donated $1,500 — but ONLY IF that amount can be matched by the dance community for a grand total of $3,000 for the Grange!

New to contradancing? It's a high-energy, friendly, zesty traditional dance done to live music. You and another person dance a set of moves with another couple, then move on to a new couple and dance with them, thereby interacting with the whole hall over the course of the night. Everyone is welcome — people of all ages, genders, and ability levels dance with one another. Most of all, it's FUN! Bring soft-soled shoes and comfortable, cool clothing; you do NOT need to bring a partner.
