In celebration of Vermont Archaeology Month the Swanton historical Society and the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge are hosting a free presentation discussing the cultural history of the Missisquoi area:

PROGRAM : Every September, the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation along with the Agency of Transportation hosts a month-long celebration of Vermont archaeology and history. This year marks the 20th Anniversary Celebration. Now is the time to discover and explore new and compelling research and artifacts that delve into Vermont’s 13,000 years of history.

Join us as experts come together to talk about the natural, cultural and historic landscape of the lower Missisquoi River from the time the glaciers receded until the present day. A series of presentations by archaeologists and others will be followed by a panel discussion and audience question and answer session.
