New England Gardening Through the Seasons

Past event
Sep 12, 2015, 7 to 8:30 PM

On Saturday, 12 September, Bonnie Brown will deliver a slide presentation, New England Gardening Through the Seasons, at the Halifax Community Hall in West Halifax, VT. Using photographs of ornamental plants - perennials, annuals, bulbs, shrubs, and more - Bonnie will describe selected garden plants, their eye appeal, and how some can provide form and structure in the garden. Based on her experience in a 29-year old garden in Lynn, Massachusetts, plus extensive reading and traveling to English - and some Vermont - gardens, Bonnie will share her knowledge and love of plants.

This program will be hosted by the Halifax Community Club and cosponsored by the Whitingham Free Public Library as part of the library’s 2015 series on gardening in Vermont. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. with potluck snacks and social time, followed by the slide presentation at 7:30 p.m. The Halifax Community Hall, located at 20 Brook Road in West Halifax, is wheelchair accessible and has an accessible bathroom. The event is free and open to public. However, voluntary donations towards the winter heat fund, so that the Club can host programs year-round in the historic Hall, would be appreciated.
