There is a joint Select board meeting with Fairfield, Swanton and St. Albans on Tuesday, September 1st at the Swanton Town Municipal Offices at 7pm to discuss the proposed 7 - 500' wind turbines to be put on Rocky Ridge, off Route 105 in Swanton, VT. On the East side of this ridge is the beautiful, yet impaired water body of Fairfield Pond and the amazing wetlands of Fairfield Swamp. To learn more about wind turbines check out these sites:

Under Documents - check out the link "Swanton Wind Preliminary Resource Map" - this shows the amazing wetlands and vernal pools where turbines are proposed. First, choose Wind, then scroll down a bit and on the right under Learn More choose, "Lowell Mountain: The Destruction of an Intact Ecosystem". They say a pictures worth a thousand words. Again the meeting is at 7pm on Tuesday, September 1st. If you're coming from Fairfield or St. Albans, get off Exit 21, turn left. The Town Office Building is at the corner of Church and Academy Streets.
