25th Annual Barn Dance
Everyone is invited to join us for The Children's Room 25th Annual Barn Dance, Sunday the 13th of September, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Beard’s Barn Waterbury Center at 1601 Barnes Hill Road. Look for signs along Route 100 directing you to the barn.

This is a great family event for all ages. It includes refreshments, live music, hayrides, tug-of-war and other old fashion games, crafts, face painting, a silent auction, and dancing until the cows come home. With a purchase of admission, you will be entered in our raffle with great prizes such as toys, local recreational passes, restaurant gift certificates, and so much more. You need not be present to win. Tickets are $15 for a single or $20 for the family. To purchase a ticket in advance, please call 244-5605 or stop in The Room at 47 Stowe Street, Waterbury, VT. Tickets are also available at the gate.

Everyone is invited to enter your favorite pie recipe for judging by a panel of dignitaries which will take place at our 25th Annual Barn Dance and Harvest Festival on Sunday September 13th.

Categories:
Children under the age of 12 years(with adult supervision)
Juniors between the ages 12 and 17 years(on their own)
Adults 18 years of age and older
Each pie will be judged on the following basis:
Overall Appearance:15 points
Crust (color,flavor,texture and doneness):20 points
Filling (consistency,doneness,moistness and flavor):25 points
Overall Flavor:30 points
Creativity:10 points
TOTAL: 100 POINTS
Prizes will be given to the first place pie winners for each category! Winners will be announced immediately after the judging has taken place on the day of the event.

CONTEST RU LES:
Pies must arrive at the event between noon and three.Pies arriving later than 3 p.m will not be entered into the contest.
Pies must be able to stand at room temperature (no refrigeration will be available).
Bring your pie in a 9 inch pie pan (Pie pans should be disposable or picked up at the event. We will not be responsible for any pans left behind).
Once all of the pies have been judged,the results will be tallied on the spot and the winners announced. In the case of a tie, both entries will be awarded “first place”.
WINNER: Besides the glory and high acclaim of having made the best homemade pie,each first place winner will be awarded a prize.
