Are you known for your spicy salsa, raspberry jam or perhaps your dill pickles? Do you have an overabundance of fruit or vegetables? Would you like to meet others who share your love of homegrown and homemade food?
If you answered yes, come to Meadowhawk Homestead’s Food Swap on Saturday, September 19th at 4:00 p.m. at 2825 Hollow Road in Monkton. A Food Swap is a get together where you swap homegrown or homemade food items.
This event is FREE to attend. You simply need to bring food to swap.
Here are a few ideas as to what you might bring:
Vegetables from your garden - Baked goods - Preserves, Jams, Jellies - Pickled anything! - Herbs - Salad dressings - Canned vegetables - Pesto - Tomato Sauce - Honey from your bees - Eggs from your chickens– Your own Maple Syrup - Any food that is homemade or homegrown!
To register or for more detailed information, please contact Melanie Cote at 425-4441 or cotem@ymail.com.
P.S. If the Food Swap is a hit, we have a Soup Swap planned for November.
