Poultney Town Hall Lawn Ceremony and Activities Sept. 1

The Penrhyn Choir is expected to arrive between 10:30 and 10:45 a.m with the ceremony at 11:00 a.m. The Penrhyn Choir will sing both the Welsh and US national anthems. J. Claire Carmody Post #39 will be participating in the ceremony, a memorial to all fallen of all our Slate Valley communities.
Location: Town Hall lawn, weather permitting. The public is encouraged to bring a folding chairs. In case of rain, inside the rec hall at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church.

***NOTE: flashmob performances by the choir and the folk musicians within it may occur at any unsuspecting time throughout the day.

BOOTHS
- The Penrhyn Choir {They DO speak English, but enjoy the treasure of hearing them speak Welsh - the language of Heaven! a language commonly spoken on the streets of our Slate Valley communities for many many decades.}
- The family of the late Gwilym Roberts, author of "New Lives in the Valley..."; Megan Price, "Vermont Wild" autographed books available; both are reachable through Hermit Hill Books.
- Lucinda Sayre - Artist & "Hand Painted by Suzanne" two artists having slate valley heritages/families to Fair Haven, Poultney, Whitehall and Granville communities.
- Stone Valley Arts Center, The Frame Shop and other artists resident in the building, will have "open studios" in the Journal Press building
- Poultney Public Library window exhibit about published authors from the Slate Valley, and books about Slate Valley and information about building expansion plans.
- Slate Valley Museum exhibit with information about Slate Valley history.
- Stitchy Women will host Pelletier's Maple Products and fried bread dough booth.
- Green Mountain College's Welsh Room collection, which will be open for visitors.
- Taps Tavern 11:30 a.m until evening closing) for food and spirits. Leslie Klami, Slate Valley musician and singer will perform until 2:30 p.m.
- The Wheat Missles , an American music slate valley band under the veranda at the LiHigh School From 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
- The LiHigh School tent for visitors will also have an exhibit.

Additional artists, authors, musicians, businesses are welcome to participate. Please be in touch with Poultney Area St. David's Society to make arrangements to do this.

5:00 p.m. - the choir will be departing Poultney and these celebrations for other parts.

DO be sure and get your tickets and see/hear them again on Wednesday at their concert in the Queensbury Free Union High School.
