REMOVE THE DIRT PILES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, PLEASE

This is official notice of an upcoming resolution that is on the agenda of the North End Neighborhood Planning Assemblies for a vote on Aug 26, 2015 at the Miller Center.

AGENDA here: http://wards4and7npa.blogspot.com/ Also on agenda, presentation of the proposed site plan for the orphanage property on North Avenue, and update on North Ave Corridor pilot projects

RESOLUTION: The Ward 4 and 7 NPAs request that the stockpiled soils be removed from Leddy Park. The NPAs recognize that additional testing must first occur before the soils can be removed. To that end, we urge in the strongest possible terms, that the BPRW, the DEC, and the EPA collaborate to ensure that the timeline for testing of the soil is significantly shortened, thus expediting the process for removal of the soil from Leddy Park as soon as possible.

The resolution was created by our City Councilors. It describes what the city has promised, and it gives our councilors a little more weight when they advocate for removal of the piles. Jesse Bridges, BPRW, will be at the meeting to answer your questions, and there is more information on the Parks Dept website.

PROCESS: NPA resolutions go forward to City Council, and to relevant City Departments. Resolutions are read and distributed at one meeting, then posted on FPF, and discussed/voted at the next meeting.
