Dear Folks, How do I start a letter to several hundred people, some I know, some I don't? It feels like running down the dock and jumping into the cool Lake George water. Once you jump, you are going to get wet. So, I am jumping in and here goes.
My name is Donna Geer Wood and I am the Superintendent of Sunday School, a member of the Board of Christian education at the United Church of Lincoln, Vermont. This position is not elected or appointed by the church. It became mine title when I volunteered for the job! I have no badge, no uniform, not even a sash! What I do have is a hunger to teach, an appetite to learn and a heart to love folks. This love is renewed each day with the help of God, my church family, and the dandy folks and neighbors that surround us here in Lincoln.
The United Church of Lincoln's Board of Christian Education also has a mission. We want folks to have the power of choice as each person walks their own spiritual path. Informed decisions are the best, and we would like to give you, your family and friends information about our faith through Christian education; Sunday School, Bible Studies, Book Discussions and fellowship with each other. We have a mailing that includes information about our church; the covenant we all have made with each other, our statement of faith, our affiliations and missions. This letter includes the curriculum our teachers have chosen, the dates of the trimester sessions and the main focus for each trimester. Adult studies and topics of discussions are also summarized. There is a list of classes and the teaching team for each class/grade. I have not included the snack schedule which is a top concern for most of us, but it is not available at the time of this posting!

We all walk these roads together, taking our doubts and wonderings down many different paths. The United Church is a family seeking answers together, and we need all the help we can get.
