“The Grinding Stone”: “Exciting, uplifting, mournful, precise, haunting, joyous and generous. An incredible blend of energy, musicianship and writing talent. The music is original, but there's an old world flavor of tradition and location held within each tune, so many moods, countries, colors and rhythms. It's like watching people of many cultures celebrate and dance.” - Victory Music

Jeremiah McLane was raised in a family with deep ties to both its Scottish heritage and its New Hampshire roots. After an early education in classical piano, Jeremiah spent his teenage years playing blues and jazz. It wasn’t until his mid twenties that Jeremiah began to immerse himself in the world of traditional Celtic and French music. He then spent several decades traveling in Europe, doing field research that laid the groundwork for a Master’s degree he received many years later from the New England Conservatory. In the early 1990s he formed The Clayfoot Strutters and Nightingale, two bands that have helped shape the sound of traditional New England roots music. He received National Public Radio's “favorite picks” award for his second solo recording, Smile When You’re Ready, and the French music magazine Trad Mag’s “BRAVO” award for his fifth release, Hummingbird.

Owen Marshall (guitar, banjo, bouzouki) has performed and recorded with many of traditional music's top performers including Aoife Clancy, Liz Carroll, Darol Anger, John Doyle, Andrea Beaton, Jerry Holland, Ari and Mia Friedman, as well as with his own traditional Irish trio “The Press Gang” and the acoustic trio “Haas, Walsh and Marshall.” His music has appeared on NPR’s “The Thistle and Shamrock,” and BBC television. In addition to being a respected performer, Owen is in demand as a teacher at music camps throughout the US.

Double-bassist Corey DiMario is one of the most sought after accompanists in the acoustic music scene. He has performed at major festivals and concert venues across North America, Europe and Australia. A diverse musician, Mr. DiMario adds rock solid, low-end accompaniment and driving rhythm to any musical situation. A founding member of the string band sensation Crooked Still, DiMario brings a diverse musical palette and energetic approach to an ensemble. He has also performed extensively with New England fiddler and singer Lissa Schneckenburger as well as being a part of the Brittany Haas/Dan Trueman Band, performing original music in Old-Time and Scandinavian styles. Most recently, Mr. DiMario was in the "house band" for Bela Fleck's New York Banjo Summit.

Sarah Blair began playing Irish music in Rhode Island’s thriving traditional music community and honed her playing as a sought-after session leader in Boston and in the world of American contra dancing. She has played at festivals, concerts, and dances from Alaska to Quebec to Florida, as well as performing at the US Embassy in Dublin as a member of a mission led by Senator Patrick Leahy. She has played with The Sevens, Long Time Courting, and other ensembles. Sarah spends much of her time teaching fiddle privately in Montpelier, Vermont, and at workshops and camps. Teaching has been a tremendous privilege for her. She has been a recipient of a Vermont Folklife Center grant to serve as a master teacher.
