On Saturday , September 26 , at Mountain View Country Club in Greensboro , VT , Mike and Jan Johnson will host their second Jim " Catfish " Hunter ALS golf tournament . All the proceeds raised from this tournament are donated to the Jim Hunter Foundation which directly benefit families stricken by this disease . Jim was a former major league baseball player primarily playing with both the Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees who died from ALS . His niece , Joan Hunter , is a personal friend who created the foundation in his name and it has been our honor to assist in raising money on behalf of the foundation .
Registration to participate in this special event is by four person teams . Teams may be men , women , or coed . The team entry fee is $220 paid on the day of the tournament and includes greens fees for the nine hole competition , helps pay for rental of the clubhouse for post-tournament fun , T-shirts for each player , awards , food and beverage , and live music this year provide by the Golden/Novak band . There will also be 50/50 ball drop raffles held every 30 minutes as well as two closest to the pin contests to help raise more in support of the foundation
